Learning How to Cope with Low Self Esteem

Filed under: College — Tags: — admin @ 6:36 am

Question: I am a teen girl and I have been having a pretty crappy day. I know people have lives way worse than me but I have just been feeling so upset and worthless lately. What are some things I can tell myself to improve my self esteem? I actually applied for scholarships for girls along with my bestfriend. She got in. But I got rejected. Now I feel so horrible.

Answer: Don’t put yourself down. We all have bad days but that is life. It’s the hard times that make us stronger. Try telling yourself every morning with a compliment. Look at the good things about yourself and what you are good at. It’s hard I know. I’ve been there. You need to figure out what is really causing these feelings. You should speak with a therapist too as he can help you overcome some of your issues. Don’t be afraid to open up.

PMP Exam – Time Management

Filed under: College — Tags: — admin @ 10:15 am

There are a lot of people who are looking at the material they have to understand to pass the PMP exam and feel somewhat overwhelmed. This is totally normal. There is a lot of material and seemingly not enough time to get it all down pat.

While it does take quite a bit of time to do, the best thing is to simply cordon off some time each day to simply doing the material. If you do this, you will save yourself the hassle down the track when you have many more things to juggle.

You may have to make a Gantt Chart, if it helps you. Also, allow some time to follow up with your teacher if there is material you aren’t too sure about. This will save you your sanity down the track when it’s the day before and you can’t reach him/her to ask some last minute questions.

The Need to Overcome My Fear of Heights

Filed under: College — Tags: — admin @ 7:36 am

I don’t know what to say when it comes to aviation. I really don’t know anything about the technicalities of being a pilot. I am afraid of heights literally. That must be the main reason why I am afraid to travel on a plane. And even figure it out what it really feels to be in one. But all I know is that being on different places is an exciting endeavor. I always want to go to the beaches of Hawaii and Philippines. But sadly, because of the phobia that I have, I can’t make this dream to happen. I would love to go, but my fear hinders me. I hope that I can overcome this fear in the future. My doctor told me to go to Aviation courses and slowly expose myself to my fears so that I can manage to overcome them slowly. This is a good type of therapy, as he said.

Jennifer just got her online marketing degree, and I can’t believe how convenient it was. I’m sure it was difficult and that she worked very hard to get the degree, but I’m also sure that she was able to do a lot of work from the comfort of her own home. Marketing has always been something that has interested me, and I chose not to go to college a while back, so I obviously was not able to study it and gain my degree. I tried to work for some marketing firms right out of high school, but I was turned away because I did not have any form of schooling under my belt, and I found this to be rather discouraging. But now that I see that Jennifer, who didn’t attend college right after high school, has been able to attain her degree, I have regained a sense of hope about working in the field.
